Xave, thanks for your reply. I am told the panel is 6:30-8:30pm on Friday June 7 at Booker T Washington High School in Norfolk.

I received word that volunteers, campaign lit/flyers, etc. are allowed, so if anyone is able to get there early, to pass out flyers as people arrive, that would be great. They can email me at this email address or call me at 510-681-4996 to coordinate as needed.

If anyone would like to help campaign and pass out flyers on Saturday, that would be welcome as well.

Thanks for your help spreading the word.

As for the fundraiser/meet-and-greet at your house, I do hope to be able to take you up on the offer. Once we are on the ballot, we'll reach out to you to plan something.

Thanks, Xave!

I will definitely let everyone tomorrow know about your event Friday – if you are able to attend tomorrow night’s event here, that would be great, but I don’t expect too many to show up, so I wouldn’t worry if you can’t.   Please let me have the time & location details of your Friday event and I will spread it out on our Facebook page and email lists.  I have a couple of folks who should be able to drop what they are doing and help you out this weekend, although the Tidewater folks have many more numbers than we do.

The offer for my house as a venue for a meet’n’greet/fundraiser still stands.   I will provide my house/yard and as much wine as needed, I’ll leave it to your campaign staff for food and invites.  My house, a replica of the Westover plantation, has hosted more than one gubernatorial candidate – although it was before I owned it!  It can host a couple hundred outside, about 50 inside if the weather’s bad.  Unfortunately, I’m north on the Peninsula, so I’m not located in a major urban area, thus anyone from say the Norfolk area would need a 45 min drive, and an hour from Richmond.

I’m working for the USAF Reserves now, so I can’t bring my cell with me, but I do check it sporadically throughout the day.  It’s 757-268-4988.

Xave,

How are you?

I was invited to a panel/forum for statewide candidates taking place in Norfolk this Friday evening. It's hosted by the Hampton Roads Urban League. I think a trip down there would be a good opportunity to meet with the Peninsula and Tidewater LP groups as well. I sent the message below to Richard Bennett of the Tidewater LP making the same suggestion to him. They do their meetings on Saturday mornings, so that is one possibility, but perhaps we can figure out what works for both groups.

As I mention in the email below, it might be helpful to have some volunteers with me at the Friday event, though I will have to see if what the organizers allow, and it may also be a possibility to do some campaigning Saturday, handing out flyers and such.

Let me know what you think. I believe your website says your group has a meeting Tuesday evening, so maybe you could let people know I'll be down there and interested in meeting everyone. If you'd like to call to discuss it, my cell # is 510-681-4996.

Thanks for your attention.

Richard,

Thank you for getting in touch. I'm sorry it's taken a while to get back to you.

I've been looking for good opportunities to travel to LP affiliates, and at the end of last week, I received an invitation to a state-wide candidates forum in Norfolk this coming Friday evening, so I thought it would make for a good opportunity to meet the Tidewater and Peninsula Libertarian Party groups and go to the Friday evening event in one trip.

I know your group had a meeting just this past Saturday, but perhaps people would be willing to come out for an impromptu meeting again this Saturday morning? Does your group have much interaction with the Peninsula Libertarians? Perhaps we could do a combined event.

I know it's short notice, but it was only today that it became a possibility to do an extended stay. The original invitation from the Hampton Road Urban League mistakenly said their event was Thursday evening, which would have required me to go down just for that and return home afterward. But I was informed today that the event is actually on Friday night, so I am able to stay until Saturday and hopefully do an event with your group.

I was also thinking about two other possibilities.

1) If anyone is interested in helping out at the Friday night event, handing out flyers to attendees, that would be great. I have to check with the event organizers to see what they will allow in that regard.

2) If we are able to do a Saturday morning meeting, perhaps some people would be interested in going out and doing some campaigning afterward as well. If there're any festivals in town, that would be a possibility, or if people want to take flyers and go out individually to hand them out, that could work, too.

In any case, let me know what you think about putting together an impromptu meet-the-gov-candidate event. I hope we can make it work. I'll contact the Peninsula LP group and see what they have to say as well.

I need to be back in Fairfax on Sunday for the Celebrate Fairfax event.

Thanks.
