Re: Settlement statement for review

I guess 5:30 at the Panera Bread, 2170 Coliseum Dr., Hampton, VA, would be convenient for us. Would that work?  It's close to Bank of America which I guess I need to get a cashier's check or what do you need for our share? Will it be a little different from the last figures?
I checked with Allstate and they have not received the payment yet but I can check again at the end of the day.

Hi Robert,

The lender has sent closing instructions to the title company.  The title
company has prepared the final settlement statement and I have attached it
here for your review.  The cash to close is a little higher that I had
anticipated because of the reserves needed to start your new escrow
account.

Here is a summary of the new loan:

-Loan amount is set at the max loan amount allowed for FHA Streamlines of
$204,489
-Payoff of current mortgage is $204,676.25
-30 year fixed at 4.25%
- Your new TOTAL mortgage payment with taxes and insurance will be
$1357.05.
-Cash due at closing in the form of a cashier's check (or you can wire
this to the title company) in the amount of $1632.80
- The credit from the lender covered all of your closing costs and left a
credit of $609 to go toward your prepaid items - These items are the daily
interest (line 901), amount needed to start the new escrow account(line
1001) and yearly premium of homeowners insurance that is due (line 903).
- You will be skipping both August and September mortgage payments.  And
you will be receiving a refund of your current escrow account with
Nationstar a few weeks after funding.  The payoff shows this amount to be
$883.04.

Please review this settlement statement and let me know if you have any
questions.  Also, this settlement statement was based on you signing
today, we will need to adjust the daily interest according to the actual
date.  Please let me know when we can get this scheduled for.

Thank you. I also received some paperwork in the mail and have a few
questions about it and the signing. Sorry if some of these sound dumb.
This would be at our house to sign the papers?
The money we would need to bring; is that to be in a check? and will it be
the "prepaid" amount on the paperwork we just received or will that change
depending on the date?
Also when would our next payment be once this closes?
The paperwork showed 31 days of prepaid interest. So does that mean that
if we did this on the 30th with these exact numbers, we would be covering
Septembers payment and would have our 1st payment due on October 1st?

Thank you again.
Rob

Media release: NTU Joins Virginia Repeal Movement

The National Taxpayers Union joins Grover Norquist, Americans for Tax Reform, the Fairfax County Taxpayers Alliance and other national and local groups and leaders in urging repeal of the recent Virginia Transportation Tax Hike...

An Open Letter to the Virginia General Assembly: Repeal the Transportation Tax Hike!

August 29, 2013

Dear Legislator:

On behalf of National Taxpayers Union's (NTU's) 9,300 members in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I urge you to repeal the $5.9 billion transportation tax increase passed by the General Assembly and signed by Governor McDonnell earlier this year. This hike is a "lose-lose" for taxpayers and the state economy, and signals that elected officials are unwilling to rein in state spending, which ballooned by 94 percent—from $22 billion to $43 billion annually—between 2000 and 2012.

The new law increased the Virginia sales tax from 5 to 5.3 percent (6 percent for Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads), implemented a 3.5 percent wholesale gas tax and 6 percent tax on diesel fuel, and raised car registration fees. In truth, these new "fees" are taxes, as they are not dedicated to road construction. Rather, they will fund mass transit projects, such as passenger rail between Lynchburg and Roanoke, the Norfolk light rail, and Metro's Silver Line, a costly project that began nearly four years ago.

Yes, Virginia's transportation financing is in desperate need of restructuring, but the law Gov. McDonnell championed follows the wrong approach by raising taxes on all Virginians and unfairly shifting the burden of taxation. Furthermore, it relies on Congressional passage of dangerous online sales tax legislation to reach even deeper into Virginia taxpayers' wallets, (at an estimated $1.1 billion). Encouraging adoption of the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act would make Virginia part of a predatory tax collection scheme that will ultimately hurt small Internet-based businesses, and undermine the principles of tax competition that have benefitted the Commonwealth.

Virginia legislators should overturn this tax hike and explore other positive approaches that could be taken to improve infrastructure in the Commonwealth. For example, the way in which Virginia's transportation funding is allocated (with an excessive proportion devoted to transit) should be given more attention. Additionally, lawmakers should look to strengthen public-private partnerships made possible through the Public Private Transportation Act (PPTA) of 1995. Thanks to the PPTA, the $1 billion I-95 Express Lanes project, which began in July 2012, required only $70 million in state funding. Policymakers should increase the number of these partnerships in the Commonwealth, which have saved billions of dollars and years of construction time.

NTU's members hope that lawmakers will repeal this tax increase and support pro-growth policies instead, such as the income tax cuts enacted in neighboring North Carolina this summer. With no tax relief from Washington, D.C. in sight, Virginians are looking to leaders in Richmond to reduce their heavy burden of taxation.

Sincerely,

YCRC Call for Mtg. 5 Sept 2013

Greetings, Fellow Republicans,

I hope you all have enjoyed the “Summer Break” and are rested and ready to hit the ground for these last 67 days of campaigning!

Attached and below, please find the Call for the 5 Sept. YCRC meeting.  Please note the venue change to Bruton High School’s auditorium.

t I’ve learned that many Republican Committees throughout our Commonwealth strive to grow their membership by rotating meetings throughout their localities, especially those whose geography stretches lengthy distances so that the same people aren’t always having to travel long distances to every meeting. In other words, they take turns to ease the travel burden as well as to reach possible new members in those areas. Several YCRC members have brought up that they would like some meetings to be nearer to them since York County does stretch across quite a lengthy distance from our southern area next to Hampton & Poquoson all the way up to Williamsburg & James City County. In that effort, for the next few meetings, we will be rotating throughout York County, usually to YCSD schools, to meet in each of our five districts. In addition, meeting in the auditoriums will allow us more space to break into our district/precinct groups for campaign/election/other planning.

If you have any friends who are upper York County residents, please invite them to join us on Sept. 5th at Bruton HS since we’ll be in their neighborhood! A membership form is attached.

BHS: 185 E. Rochambeau Dr., Williamsburg, VA 23188. If you take I-64W towards Williamsburg, take the Camp Perry exit, turn left at the stop sign. (Camp Perry entrance will be to your right.) Turn right at the light onto E. Rochambeau. Bruton HS will be on your left – you’ll want the 2nd driveway into the school as the first one is the BHS exit (one way in, one way out).

t On the Call’s agenda, please note that Bob D’Eramo’s name has been re-added to the list of possible new members for election. Bob was introduced at a 2012 meeting and had his application form mistakenly filed as having been voted in as a member, but he was not as he missed the next meeting. He has been unable to return to a YCRC meeting since Jan. due to recovering from serious injuries in a near-fatal car accident, but he let me know this summer that he’d like to return. He’s now back on the list and will be voted on at the next regular YCRC meeting he attends. We look forward to having Bob join us, again! (Many thanks, again, to Bob for allowing YCRC to place our booth in front of his Ben & Jerry’s shop on Water St. for the Yorktown 4th Celebration!)

t The 6 June minutes will be sent in another email before the 5 Sept. meeting for your review.

t Don’t forget – if you cannot attend the meeting, a non-YCRC member who lives in your York County District can attend in your place as your proxy so you’re not  counted as absent. Since YCRC must follow RPV Party Plan rules, if you miss three (3) consecutive meetings, you resign your membership and lose all voting/speaking privileges. A proxy form is attached for your convenience.

I look forward to seeing you all next Thursday, 5 Sept., at Bruton High School to hear Suzanne Obenshain speak about Mark’s campaign and to organize our grassroots’ Get Out The Vote efforts to help our Republican candidates WIN in November! We only have 67 more days left to work towards VICTORY!!

For God and Country,

Lynda
