| Dear Friend, The most recent reports from the National Hurricane Center (NHC), the hurricane advisory body for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), indicate that Hurricane Irma will make contact with the Eastern Seaboard of the United States and travel north, possibly impacting large portions of Virginia. As we have seen with Hurricane Harvey, these storms have the potential to damage infrastructure and severely impede emergency response capabilities. Please keep in mind that conditions may change. In the event the storm turns towards Virginia, I have compiled contact information for federal, state, and local authorities to help you prepare for the worst this storm could bring. If no resources are available in your immediate area, contact the Virginia Emergency Management Agency to ask about other resources or to obtain contact information.    My office stands ready to help should you or your loved ones require assistance during this difficult time. Sincerely, SCOTT TAYLOR Member of Congress NOTE: To view a PDF version of this information, please see attachment                                                                       | State contact information | | Virginia Department of Emergency Management (HQ) Phone: 804-897-6500 Virginia Emergency Operations Center Phone: 804-674-2400 http://www.vaemergency.gov/                                                                                                                    |
