A diverse lineup of free concerts will take place across the region this week as the summer season begins to wind down.
The USCG Tracen Band is set to perform at Yorktown Library on Wednesday evening, while the Port Warwick Concert Series concludes with its last concert of the year featuring Revelation.
On Thursday, The Deloreans bring '80s vibes back to Riverwalk Landing for the series finale of the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, and The Finns take the stage for the continuation of the Tech Center Concert Series.
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra will bring two free concerts to the Peninsula this weekend, starting with "Broadway Then & Now" on the lawn of Christopher Newport University on Friday. On Saturday, "Rhythms of Resilience" will celebrate America's 250th anniversary and the African Landing Commemoration at Fort Monroe at the Ferguson Center.
Bruton Parish Church will host two candlelight concerts, including a Flute, Oboe, and Organ Recital on Thursday and an organ recital featuring local musician Agnes French on Saturday.
Other highlights this week include the return of Millstone Market at Waller Mill Park, Owl Prowl Night Hike at York River State Park and a historian-led special event, "The Intoxicating History of the American Revolution," at American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

Virginia Symphony Concert | Riverwalk Landing | Yorktown | Sept. 5 | Discover the vast range of the orchestra, under the direction of Conductor Adam Turner, in a program that unites timeless composers and favorite hit scores. This concert is presented by the Celebrate Yorktown Committee of the Yorktown Foundation with generous support from York County, York County Arts Commission and the Virginia Commission for the Arts, as well as community contributors from organizations, businesses and individuals.
