The Health Care Compact

Please join us at the Hampton Library for a round table discussion on the Health Care Compact and how to deal with the health care. This month's discussion will be on healthcare reform and how we, as citizens, should pursue, defend and debate this important issue.

The Virginia Tea Party Federation supports a bill called the Healthcare Compact. There are several who have different arguments concerning this bill. Once we enter into it, it creates a commission and a bureaucracy which imposes penalties for removing the state; it's unconstitutional and others argue that it is better to defend positions at the state level rather than the federal level.

United Nations Day

October 24 is UN Day and the promoters are wanting governors to make proclamations and promotions.

If you haven't already sent a letter to the governor asking him not to promote UN Day, you can go here to find a form letter that you can copy or use as one you can edit to make it original. ( Governor Bob McDonnell at Robert.F.McDonnell@governor.virginia.gov )

This page also has the letter being sent by the promoters of UN Day in case someone wants a reference to document those intentions.

Also, there are plans in the works to have an anti-UN/ICLEI rally at the Bell Tower in Richmond on Capitol Square for October 24! But time is tight and help is needed.
