In this friendly competition, local chefs will vie for best meatballs in a number of categories. Fun--and samples--ensue from 1-4 p.m. at the Coastal Virginia Magazine Idea House built by Stephen Alexander Homes & Neighborhoods! Sponsored by Structured Cable VA. (2) March 29: 10th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival at Red Wing Park
Celebrate Virginia Beach's international sisterhood with Miyazaki City, Japan at the 10th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at 1398 General Booth Blvd. This Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation event highlights the beauty of Japanese culture and the 150+ Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees with music, martial arts, creative activities, demonstrations and tea samples. (3) March 29: Pork 'N' Pinot Party at Vintage Tavern
Gather for a perfect pairing to celebrate Vintage Tavern's 9th anniversary at the Pork 'N' Pinot Party. The fun starts at 3 p.m. with a smorgasbord of delectable southern dishes, including lots of pork--pulled, chopped and smoked. Oysters are roasted on the front veranda, and plenty of other main courses round out the menu. As always, guests will enjoy a never empty glass of wine, beer or iced tea. Live music adds to the lively festive atmosphere.
