Once the shock of having government run healthcare subside, it is time to move on to other issues because overturning Obamacare is going to be a longtime endeavor, if possible.

At the arm twisting of Hilary Clinton, President Obama will sign an international gun control treaty and also sign the Law of the Sea Treaty (L.O.S.T.).

There are to be 20 Republicans plan to join the Democrats in supporting the L.O.S.T. Treaty, they are: Enzi, McConnell, Hutchison, Toomey, Johanns, Ayotte, Graham, McCain, Lugar, Kirk, Snowe, Collins, Murkowski, Isakson, Grassley, Portman, Corker, Cochran, Brown, and Alexander.

Forgive Student Loan Debt

Rep. Hansen Clarke: Cut, cap, and forgive student loan debt

On March 7, 2012, Michigan U.S. Representative Hansen Clarke introduced H.R. 4170, Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012, that would extend a helping hand to those struggling under massive amounts of student loan debt. MoveOn.org is soliciting support for the Student Loan Forgiveness legislation.

Currently, 90% of the people support the bill on OpenCongress and 672,000 people are signing the PETITION, only 675,000 is needed. Some petition comments are pretty interesting.

According to MoveOn.org, There are over 1 million petition signatures in support of the Student Loan Forgiveness Act already. But that's only the beginning-stacks of petitions continue to be delivered every day-and we're (MoveOn.org) building a movement too powerful for our leaders to ignore.

Since 1999, average student loan debt has increased by 511%. In 2010, total outstanding student loan debt exceeded total outstanding credit card debt in America for the first time ever. In 2012, total outstanding student loan debt is expected to exceed $1 trillion.

Audit the Fed

Ron Paul introduced HR 459, the Audit the Fed bill, that will be voted on in the U.S. House this July.

Fed's allies will do everything to water the bill down, leave a meaningless shell behind or kill it outright. Audit the Fed currently enjoys the support of a majority of the U.S. House. In fact, today, 4 Virginia representatives still refuse to cosponsor Audit the Fed.

Why are the following representatives refusing to stand for transparency and accountability of our nation's central bank?

Please call them immediately to demand they stand with the American people by cosponsoring HR 459, the Audit the Fed bill.

If your representative is already a cosponsor, I urge you to still contact them with two clear messages:

1.) Any attempt to water down Audit the Fed - or a vote for such an attempt - will be seen as a direct attack on transparency and reported to their constituents as such.

2.) HR 459 must receive a standalone, up or down vote on its own merits.

Our debt currently stands at almost $16 trillion, yet the Fed continues to print more money - backed by nothing but the whims of Ben Bernanke and international bankers. The government and the Fed have also put us on the hook for trillions more in bailouts and loan guarantees.

Forcing a complete audit of the Federal Reserve is the first step to ending the fiscal insanity and saving this country from financial ruin.

The Peninsula Tea Party (PTP) has scheduled a working meeting Tuesday, July 17th @ 6:30pm at the Hampton Public Library.

Ever notice that when there is legislation that gives Americans more liberties, it always seems to get defeated by...just a few dissenting votes? Even our local government infringes on our property rights and teams up with local universities, businesses and NGOs in controlling our lives. We no longer have a representative government.

With the Supreme Court deeming Obamacare Constitutional, the ruling on the Arizona immigration bill, EPA or light bulbs, its time to establish a system of accountability and develop an organization that holds our local, state and national elected officials accountable. At this working meeting, concepts and theories will be discussed and feedback welcome. We must come together in fighting against this out-of-control government...so let it be.
