RE: [HRPatriots] local groups - Peninsula Tea Party

Shirley,

I completely understand your frustration with organizing campaigns! Last year and earlier this year, I tried to put together several events. It’s a struggle getting people involved.

When it comes to political campaigns and the Republican Party, the chairs of the Republican Party have ample resources to organized these events.

Over the past couple of months, one of the issues I’ve been working is opposing the Hampton’s Rental House Inspection Program but I’ll include in another email.

As for organizing, our local government has adopted a collectivist mentality. They intend to use government to control society. No matter who gets elected Tuesday, the wheels are in motion at the local/regional level unless we can stop it. I understand that people wanting to get the “Big Three” elected but if we’re to remain free, we must remove politics from our economy.

What I heard at the Hampton City council meeting last week will make your ears bleed. This will not be confined to Hampton.

I echo everyone else. Been helping VA Republicans in Yorktown w/ some canvasing but last couple of weeks I've been busy with some other things. This weekend is booked to with personal issues. (All of my cars have broken down in one way or another and limited funds means I have to do the work myself.)

I may be able to help w/ an email or letter writing thing but I haven't had time to get it organized. I added Brian to this since he is basically Chair of PTP I think, and I have sent an inquiry or two his way in the last month (email) and wondering if he heard from them and if PTP is doing anything.

All,

Wayne is shrewd to discern that it is partially strategic for the powers that be to “overwhelm the system in order to collapse it.” Sound familiar? It should to most of you. It’s straight out of Saul Alinski’s “Rules for Radicals.”

It is the very same tactic to so burden small businesses and pre-occupying them with increased taxes and fees that they won’t have the time to fight, nor won’t have the money, either.

I did say the strategy was only “partially” strategic to this issue. The remaining motivation for increased taxation is the usual greed for the usual desire to spend more of your money. That, too, further increases their power of us all.

Good job, Wayne.

I hear you Shirley,

Your e-mail falls upon my own sense of responsibility and even guilt.  I’m sure there are a million stories in the big city but my excuses have to do with little time and no money.

I’m so busy dodging bullets that I can’t join the fight.  Our businesses are hurting because of the taxation and impossibility of competing with Newport News.  I.e. “entertainment tax” just went form 7.5% (already too high) to 10%.  That puts a serious burden on our already economy diminished business so they can use the money to build 4 new K-3-5 schools (essentially free daycare) that is killing my biggest tenant, a daycare that occupies 3 spaces.

Everywhere I turn I’m staring at the bank or the government coming for money I don’t have.  I have to do all the landscaping (where I should be right now) because I can’t afford it.

I know that part of the plan (conscious or not) is to keep us so damn overwhelmed that we can’t fight.  Unfortunately it is working all too well.  Still Sandy has been able to get out and canvas a little.  Let me know if you need a place to meet, I believe we can use LazerRush for up to about 30 folks on a Monday night when we’re closed.

Thanks for your motivational reminder.  I don’t know where you always seem to have all that positive energy.  “They will run and not grow tired,” comes to mind, perhaps we run healthier when our cause is just.

Let’s make the effort to rekindle our love for all humanity because if we let it die here, it will die everywhere.

Keep the faith,

Wayne

P.S. My Sunday is full.

Hello everyone

Are these 2 groups still active? Does anyone in the Hampton Roads Patriots and Peninsula TEA Party get involved in local politics anymore? I only see emails but no calls for action. I've invited members to help with sign waves, door knocking, phone calling, etc but no one ever responds, so I'm under the impression these groups are only active via the exchange of emails and such.

If anyone does want to do something besides email and post, let me know.

If ever there was a time for people to group together and grow their numbers, it is now.

Everyone is scattered, and when the boom comes down, we'll be out of touch.

It's coming. The gun grab is next. Obama has been testing the degree of resistance he might encounter for his gun grab by first pushing us via the TSA, NSA, the shutdown and treatment of Vets. We didn't riot or even push back to any significant degree. He thinks we are all bark and no bite and is pretty much resigned to believe we will act thusly when DHS comes knocking, that we will just willingly hand over our guns.

He is scrubbing our military clean of Constitutionally grounded generals and top commanders and militarizing our police forces. We all know this.

The fact that there are no groups meeting on this side of the water anymore is very troubling. I see other groups on twitter across the country who are cohesive and continue to grow. I would hope that those of us still getting emails would be involved in this election. I know some of you are and are working hard for Cuccinelli, Jackson, and Obenshain as well as for our General Assembly candidates.

I want to do a sign wave sometime this weekend but unless we have at least a dozen of us, it won't look very good. Reply back if you are interested. Someone needs to show this area we all aren't apathetic and detached from the real world, that some of us here DO care who gets into office.

Thanks.

God bless~

Shirley
