Free Glen Boswick & the Sound of Swing Orchestra concert July 4

     If you're coming to Yorktown for the 4th of July, be sure to be at Riverwalk Landing at 8 p.m. to enjoy a free concert featuring Glen Boswick and the Sound of Swing Orchestra.
     The orchestra will begin at 8 p.m. with an all patriotic themed performance, followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m. The orchestra will continue the festivities following the fireworks display and play music for your listening and dancing pleasure until 10:30 p.m.    
     Special guest conductor, David Anson, director of bands from United States Coast Guard Training Center, Yorktown, will be leading the band on a patriotic salute of marches by Carl King. Vocalist Jimmy Crank will be singing a mix of American popular standards, the fabulous 50's, and a special rendition of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A."
     The orchestra was formed locally in 1977. Sound of Swing is known as Hampton Roads' premiere swing and dance band and is a favorite at local venues, along the Eastern Shore, and in North Carolina.
